Accessing 'gemini_user' table from an external application

web-app

Hi,

"If I'm adding a user from an external web-application, what all table-field settings in the GeminiSample database I've to take care, so that the Gemini architecture is not affected."

My purpose is like this. I've an intranet website. Whenever a user registers in the intranet site, he should be provided with a Gemini account.
Is that requirement feasible? Can I accomplish the above mentioned task? Or will that be a nightmare to integrate such a feature?[6]

   Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

You should use Gemini web services for this. It will make your life much easier.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the quick reply. Let me have a try with the link and will get back to you at the earliest.

Off-Topic: I cannot SignIn into 'this' forum using IE8. When I click the SignIn button after entering username/password, the browser tab just shows a connecting icon. But, I can successfully SignIn using FF3/Chrome. Just for your information. UPDATE: I'm accessing via a proxy server.

Thanks.

Hi Mark,

The last question of this thread (I hope!).

When we create a new user in Gemini (please note, NO additional privileges are assigned. Simply created a user, thats all...), an entry is made ONLY in the 'gemini_users' table.

Is that correct? I haven't digged the code yet. I hope no additional database table entries are affected while registering a user?

I think I'm right...!

If the question goes 'out-of-the-box', I'm sorry.

A YES/NO from you will clear all my doubt. Looking forward for your reply.

Thank You.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the reply.

My purpose was too simple. We're re-building our intranet application. We use a couple of other software kits. So, I wish to create access to all those software kits (Gemini one among them), when they register in the Intranet application. Keeping different account for different applications is a headache.

Thats it, this thread is closed.

Thanks for the help, Mark.

Take Care.
