Outlook Plugin Install Problem - Vista

web-app

Anyone encounter a problem installing the Outlook v1.1.0 plugin on Vista?

I can't seem to get around the following error during install:
"Error writing to file:  Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Common.dll. Verify that you have access to the directory."

Thanks for any help?

Please retry the installation with admin rights on your local machine/desktop.

I've also just tried to install the plugin on a machine running Vista and am having the same issue with OL 2007.

The user installing the plugin is a local administrator on the workstation but every time I get the same error.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

What is the error code you get?

You can try to un-register and re-register Windows Installer-

1. Click Start, Run.
2. Type msiexec /unreg, and press
3. Click Start, Run.
4. Type msiexec /regserver, and press enter.

For more info- http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555175   This solution has worked for some users.

Here are some other things you can try if the problem persists-

If you have UAC turned off, turn it on and try again.

Disable your virus scanner during the installation.

Thanks for that.

I had UAC turned on, so your suggestion gave me the idea to turn it off, install the plugin and turn it back on again - That worked fine.

When I was trying to install it before I was not getting the prompt to elevate the operation.

All good now.
