Data Import Utility V1 for Gemini 3.1 security questions

Hello,

I downloaded and installed the new Gemini Data Import Utility V1.0 from the website and I read the documentation but could not find the answers to a few questions:

1) Our Gemini installation is setup to use Windows authentication, when you launch the DIU, it is prompting for username/password. I have tried entering the admin, manager and domain\windows credentials but it just flashes and puts red, circled, exclamation points that have hover tags showing "Blank/invalid fieldx supplied." Can the utility be used when the application is in Windows authentication mode? If so, how do you connect when in this mode?

2) Can the utility be run from any workstation in the domain since it connects to Gemini using a URL or does the utility only work when installed and run on the server where Gemini is installed?

  1. Windows authentication does not work with our add on products at the moment. You will need to create a password for your user in Gemini and login with it.
  2. The utility can run from any workstation that can connect via HTTP to your website.

I am trying to use the Manager account and I have reset the gemini password to make sure I'm using the correct one. It still does not connect.

I have tried using my domain account that is setup as a Gemini user with a different gemini password, and setting the gemini password to be the same as my domain password. It does not connect.

I created a new non-domain Gemini user and set the gemini password, it does not connect.

Could it be when the authentication is set to Windows, Gemini cannot accept username/password authentication and we cannot use this tool until/unless somthing is changed? I remember that authentication is an either Windows or Forms and the doc says when in Windows mode it will only support Windows authentication, not both. 

Is there a log somewhere that would indicate what the errors are?

Do you have Microsoft WSE 3.0 installed on the web server?

Please check Gemini's error log for errors.
