Ability to filter issues visible (security) based on a value in an issue?

web-app

I don't think this is possible, but I wanted to be certain:

Is it possible to allow users to view a list of issues based on certain values within the issues?

Here's the situation:

We have a project where any user can create a ticket. One of the values in the ticket is a custom field for location.

Each location has a manager, and the manager needs to be able to see all of the tickets where the value is the same as the manager's location.

Basically, instead of "View Own Issues", I'm looking for something like "View Issues Where Issue.Field = User.Field" or anything similar to this.

We're on 3.5.4. Is this possible in any version?

Thanks.

If you want them to only see issues where the custom field value is set to a certain value then no.
You can filter by csutom field, but I don't think that is what you are after here.

You can also set the visibility of the issue to a group that only the manager belongs to.

Can you elaborate on that? Where can I go to set the visibility of a particular issue?

Ah, I found it. It appears that I can only select one group though - and I might need to select multiple. Additionally, I'm concerned that setting the visibility to one group would cause the support team to not be able to see it.

I don't think there's a way to do what I want without customizing Gemini.

When you edit an issue you can set the visibility of the issue (if you are set to see the visibility field in the edit visibility scheme). Simply set it to a global / project group of your choice.
