Version 2.2.6 - SQL Server connection test fails

web-app

I am trying to do a fresh installation of Gemini Version 2.2.6 on one server while the empty Gemini database resides on another server. When I get to the point in the installer where you enter the SQL Server instance name with the authentication details, the connection test fails. I have:

1. Entered the machine name of the SQL Server,

2. Entered the database name 'Gemini,'

3. Selected 'SQL Server 2005' from the Version dropdown,

4. Selected SQL Server Authentication for Authentication Mode, and

5. Entered the user name and password, but the connection test fails.

I have verified the authentication information because I can create an ODBC connection to the same Gemini database using the same SQL login info.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks very much for any help.

Did you create the database before running the installer?

Also, make sure that your SQL Server is accepting remote connection as it is does not by default.
