Prep for next upgrade?

I'm a registered user who wants to set up a "test" copy of our PROD Gemini installation.  Is there a procedure for backing up and restoring the system as a part of a move to a new box?  Specifically I'd like to take a snapshot of PROD and install that on XP Pro so that I could run through an upgrade cycle to see what gotcha's exist before taking chances with our PROD system.

Today I got the free version of  Gemini 2.2.6 installed on the XP Pro box.  I'd like to backup our PROD DB, restore it to a local SQL Server Express instance, and re-configure IIS to point to that instance.

Can you provide some step-by-step instructions for that, please?

This is quite simple:

  • Restore the Gemini database.
  • Configure your web.config file to point to the restored location.
  • Make sure the permissions are given to the SQL user to access the new server / database.
