Gemini 2.2.6 and SQL server 2005 express edition installation problem.

web-app

Hi,

I tried to install Gemini version 2.2.6 on my server, unfortunately without success. The error message is: Connection failed. Would you like to try again? [Retry, Cancel].

I tried “MyServerName\ SQLEXPRESS, My Server IP Address\ SQLEXPRESS, localhost\SQLEXPRESS and only SQLEXPRESS.

In each case I tried the SQL Server instance name case-sensitive, case-insensitive and both authentification mode.

Here below my configuration.

Stand a lone Windows 2000 server SP4, IIS 5.0 and SQL server 2005 express edition with the following options.

- Use Windows and SQL authentication.

- SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) is running Log On as “LocalSystem”.

- SQL Server  Browser (SQLEXPRESS) is running Log On as “LocalSystem”.

- SQL Server 2005 network configuration

-        Shared Memory : Enabled.

-        Named Pipes: Enabled.

-        TCP/IP: Enabled.

- SQL Native Client Configuration.

- Aliases: NA

- SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration.

-        Instance Name: SQLExpress.

-        Local and remote connection is enabled, using both TCP/IP and named pipes.

-        Ad hoc Remote Queries: Enable OPENROWSET and OPENDATASOURCE support.

-        CLR integration is enabled.

-        OLE Automation is enabled.

-        Xp_cmdshell is enabled.

I will appreciate your help.

Regards.

Max

Did you create a database first? Note that the installer will not do so.
