SSO (Single Sign On) Step by Step

web-app

Hi,

we have the following setup:

  • Gemini 2.0.5
  • Windows 2000 Server in a domain
  • IIS
We would like to set up SSO so that
  • Domain users don't have to type in username and password
  • That we are able to assign permissions within in Gemini to them via
    • A windows user group (preferred) e.g. users belonging to the windows user group "domain users" have these rights xyz in Gemini
    • or alternately for each user within Gemini
We tried to:
  • Set <authentication mode="Windows"> in web.conifg
  • And windows authentication to on and anonymous access to off in IIS
  • But the password dialog box from IIS appears each time.
The question we have are:
  • Do we need to set up each user manually in Gemini with domain\username?
  • How can we prevent a password dialog from appearing?
  • Would it be possible to have a step by step guide to set this up please?
Thank you
Patrick Wolf

You will need to add all users to Gemini manually (Domain\User).

I suspect you will have to consult your network admin about IIS not authenticating your users.

You can try and see if http://www.countersoft.com/Downloads/Gemini.pdf section 13.9 does the trick.
