Upgraded server to 2.1.1, can't login using desktop app
We just upgraded our Gemini server from an older version to 2.1.1 – and now I’m having problems logging into the desktop application. Here are some of the steps I have taken:
- Uninstalled desktop app 1.0 & installed newest desktop app (2.0.x) available as of 6/27/07.
- Tried to authenticate user account in desktop app. Got error “Login error encountered. Please check username and password.”
- Checked username and password by logging into web app -> worked.
- Verified that SEW2.0 SP3 was installed on the server
- Checked the “FullGeminiURL setting in web.config -> not available (must be reading tech note from old version)
- Ran the app with –dc option. Received error “Object moved: Object moved to <a href=”/Gemini/Error.aspx?aspxerrorpath=/Gemini/webservices/AuthWS.asmx”>here<a/>
- Verified that AuthWS.asmx existed on server
- Tried viewing AuthWS.asmx directly in browser, got “Gemini Application Error”
- Read error log, got “The value of the property 'type' cannot be parsed. The error is: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Web.Services3, Version=3.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. (C:\inetpub\Gemini Project Issue Tracking\WebApp\web.config line 215)”
