Very disappointed.....

web-app

The more we have been working with version 3.0.4 this weekend, the worse the experience. It is clear lots has improved, but the fundamental admin feature of managing users has gone completely out the window.

Nothing makes sense. Sure - new stuff is introduced and we have to get used to it, etc etc. But 1) migration of our users and permissions does not retain anything resembling our previous structure and 2) There are severe short-falls in the handling of Global and Project groups.

We will be rolling back to the old version that we were using, and I look forward to someone telliing me that I am very wrong and pointing out exactly how brilliant it is.

Otherwise, we will impatiently wait for an upgrade. And hopefully lots of users will feedback the same frustration as me so we can get a decent user manager in place.

I have to concur.  The "upgrade" has been very painful.  So far, we are sticking with it and not rolling back, but I find myself wishing I hadn't gone down this path.  So many issues with the upgrade... and some things seem like "down grades" ...

The Road Map, for example... less information is displayed than before.  Lots of display issues.  And you can't export it.

Other things are completely disappointing.  The Reports section for example.  Hopefully, countersoft intends to deploy more reports than what they are currently offering, right now the meager selection is useless.

Unfortunately I have to agree :( this upgrade was a real struggle and took us five full work days.

4 Days to make the DB data integrity consistent, including set up of a test DB, rolling back and forth etc. and at least one day for the new Security Setup.

It looks better, but the first feedback from our users are: Its very slow, Creat issue, show Issue etc. takes up to 4 seconds and more.

Regarding the data integrity it would helped a lot, if you could have proviee a precheck sql script, which checks the integrity and shows a readable msg to fix the problem.

We had to find everything step by step e.g issues, had wrong risklevel or wrong components and many many more.

Regarding the security, which we need to get used to (its still not 100% clear), cause it does not looks like any standard security setup, a webcast e.g. could help.

The point is, that in such case of a major upgrade, it should be well prepared, to have a smother upgrade.

We appreciate the feedback and will take action to resolve these in due course.

The one thing we did not experience is the slowness issue. This could be a database maintenance issue as the upgrade to 3.0 duplicates all the data. Can you verify using SQL profiler if this is an SQL issue?
