What is the Project Lead(s) attribute for?

When creating a project, I am asked to enter Project Lead(s) in a text box. The version I work with is 2.0.4. The help pdf document (Product Version 2.0.3, the one also found on your site) does not mention this attibute.

Is this used for anything else then reference for the users?
