Annoying sounds

desktop
add-ons

I am testing Gemini Desktop 3.7.7 at the moment and when I changed the issue type from 'New Feature' to 'bug' I hear a very annoying sound (according to my collegues from the Transformers). How can I turn this annoying sounds off?

Did I mention I find it annoying?

Gee, thats fast! Now I am curious:

1) was it really the sound of the Transformers?
2) was it some sort of easter egg to put these in?

Thanks!

Yes, to both. Unfrotunately, there is no way to switch it off (except for muting your speakers).

Is there a place where I can download newer builds? At the moment I can only see the same version on the download page. Am I missing something?

We have kept it as the same version as this was the only change.

So I should download the program with the same version number, but in reality it is a different one?

Strange, but I'll give it a try.

Downloaded and installed the desktop installer. All works fine now, without annoying sounds. Thanks for that!

What wonders me though, is that you issue a new installer with the same version nr (3.7.7) AND the same build nr (2784). How on earth can you (or I as user) keep track of which version of the installer is running? My collegue has the 'old' build nr installed, including sounds. So picture this:

Collegue: Hey, I thought they fixed the sounds
Me: They did, look at my pc: no sounds
Collegue: Which version are you running?
Me: v3.7.7 build 2784
Collegue: Are you kidding me or what? I have the same version, take a look for yourself

I guess you like Orwell? All builds are equal, but some are more equal than others?

Obviously I am not telling you how to do your work, but shouldn't you at least increase the build number to indicate that something changed? Isn't that what build numbers are for?

Yes, the build number should have changed! Obviously someone didn’t understand “don’t change the version” correctly...
