Customizability of email alerts
My environment entails requirement for high customization of email alerts based on:
1) Roles added to general alert for any issue activity
2) Individuals, aside from role, added to alert for any issue activity
3) Individuals and/or Roles added to alert for specific type of issue activity
Can these criteria be met by either customization of email alerts, or the generic email
alert functionality of the program?

Could you explain further please? You can customise the mail plugin, the source code is provided and you can use web services to query Gemini. |

What is key to my question, is that the email alert can be a cumulative list, and not |

Thanks for this. You can assign issue watchers so that whenever the issue is updated they will receive an email. You can also customise the mail plugin to check for certain criteria (roles etc...). |

Hi, Can you expand on this last comment / point me at info... I'm looking to do something similar to Fred; That is to automatically add watchers (preferred) or onetime email people (worst case), when a custom field is set to certain selection, e.g. when a custom field "does this change affect Bill of Materials" is set to "yes", the buying department automatically get added as a watcher on the issue. Is this possible in 2.0.4? Thanks, Steve

Yes, this is possible if you write / change the mail plugin. You will need to use Gemini web services or SQL to query Gemini about custom fields and issue watchers. |
