png images not displayed nicely in IE6

I've just upgraded from 2.2.7 to 3.0 with no trouble.

However, v3.0 introduce a number of png images. Png are not displayed well in IE6 (IE bug). Not all png images (ie. component and version images) can be replaced by gif images (would have provided screen shot but I'm not allowed).

I can live with this, even if it doesn't look pretty. Therefore I suggest replacing all png images with gif images.
