Gemini Desktop on Windows 7 x64 - Crash or Log-In Problems

Are there ANY hints under which condition Gemini Desktop should run?

  • My machine: Win7/x64 -> Crash during startup (see eventvwr below)
  • Colleagues machine: Win7/x64 -> Impossible to log-in to Gemini server

When browsing this forum I see some users with identical problems - but NO solution. Quite disappointing for a long-time Gemini customer.

Can you please run DebugView and send us the output (from both machines)?

Hello & Thanks!

One machine is working now. I disabled anonymous access as outlined in your add-on manual. Suggest to add this tip to the "Post install" steps in the installation manual - at least a reference. We are using x64 - so the screen shot feature (the main reason for trying it out) crashes. Pre-releaes, updates or fixes are highly welcome :-)

The other machine (mine) shows nothing in debugview. Just a crash immediately after starting Gemini Desktop. On the working machine debugview shows output.

The machine itself is a newly installed 7 Ultimate, with office und some visual studio express installations.

Gemini 3.7, which is due out soon, will support 64bit screen capture.

As for the crash, can you please check the windows application log (event viewer) for errors?

Admin does not help. (Comaptibility mode does not help too).

Good morning!

Yes - I tried admin as well as various compatibility settings. Without success.

But I would like to postpone this request. I'll wait for 3.7. At the moment I am quite satisfied with the new web-GUI of 3.6.5. Fulfills all of my requirements (except file/screen-shot upload). Good work!
