Core Mailbox Setup

Every mailbox can be configured as follows:

General

The Name attribute is user-defined and should describe the mailbox. It serves no technical purpose.

The Mode option allows fro you to connect to either POP3 or IMAP enabled mailbox. Selecting IMAP will then allow you to select which IMAP folders will be the source of emails.

POP3

The POP Server option should contain the IP/host name for your mail server.

The POP Authentication Username/Password option should contain any credentials required to connect to you mailbox.

The POP Server Port option should contain the port number for the mail server. Default: 110

IMAP

The IMAP Server option should contain the IP/host name for your mail server.

The IMAP Authentication Username/Password option should contain any credentials required to connect to you mailbox.

The IMAP Server Port option should contain the port number for the mail server. Default: 143

The Folder option should be used to select the folder which will be used as the source of them emails.

Message Deletion

The Delete Messages option specifies whether emails on the server are deleted once Converse has processed them.

Reply Type

When an email is received you can select whether a reply is automatically sent back from Gemini by setting the Reply option:

  • None – no reply is sent back.
  • Acknowledge – a single reply is sent back to the sender. No further emails will be sent to the sender.
  • Notify – the sender is notified each time the ticket in Gemini is changed.

Reported By

The Use Sender as Reporter option determines if the incoming email address will be used to find a Gemini user account. If an account is found then the newly created ticket will be marked as reported by the sender of the email.
