The application allows you to capture images by pressing "Print Screen" or by capturing a window / region and send the image to Gemini issue.

I can't seem use "region capture" or "window capture" buttons.  I expect to capture a region of something on my desktop but the "gemini screen capture" keeps showing up on top of everything else (basically it gets in the way).  Same thing with "window capture", I want to capture other application window, but "gemini screen capture" just covers the screen or gets in the way blocking the whole view of other windows I want to capture.

Does the screen capture app opens as maximized?

Yes, the screen capture app DOES NOT open as maximized
I didn't resize the screen capture app window. 
I tried to move the screen capture app away to the corner of my desktop, minimize its appearance as possible so that I can capture screen of other applications.  But still, i can't hide its appearance completely by moving it

Seems very odd. When I use it and click on capture region / window the capture app is hidden and I can see all winodws.

Does this not happen for you?

Which version are you using?

I'm using v3.1.0 build 2179 Gemini Desktop Add-on
The screen capture app does not automatically minimize at all when I clicked on "capture window" button.  See below screenshot that I captured with "capture window" button (i wanted to capture firefox window - which was maximized - but it turned out to be like this).

Gemini Desktop version 3.1.1 has been released today. The screen capture issue noted above has been fixed in this release.
