An answer was given, but did not resolve the issue.

Rafik has adjusted the view settings correctly, as far as we can tell, yet the image he attached still reflects our story view situation. Previously, all fields were appearing in story view, for all users. But some subsequent change resulted in most of those fields disappearing. A quick perusal of our template story screen view settings seems to indicate that most of the items are set to view. Further, when we examine each item (via the grey triangle), we can see that the desired group is also on the able to view list.

What we want is to make sure that all users default to seeing a very specific view when they first login, and they can customize from there. But the view they currently see is missing many of the desired fields.
