In the online help, it says "AppNav Cards store the menu location and any filters you apply to a page."

I assumed that this meant the AppNav remembered the original filter at the time that it was created.

So, if I open a page using the AppNav, and then modify the filter, I assumed that the AppNav would still remember the original filter. In this case, other users can click the AppNav and always see the original filter. This is very useful.

In fact, it seems that the AppNav will remember the new filter.

Which way is it supposed to work?
