Can import the first 30 rows from Excel, then get error

admin
database
Excel

Up till half an hour ago, import from Excel was working fine. I imported the first 30 rows from a file, but then I got the message:

"There seems to be a problem accessing the 'app_data/imports' folder. Please ensure you have given 'everyone' modify access to this folder.

I deleted the first 30 imported rows from the Excel file, then logged out and logged in again - but I still get the same message.

Any advice?

Any errors in the system log?

Here is an update.

Since my last post I have successfully uploaded a 2-row file. But I can't upload the same 2-row file again.

Sometimes, on entry to the Upload dialog, I choose a file, but the the first occurrence of the "Next" button is visible, but inactive. Sometimes that same button has an Ajax circular progress indicator.

It seems to me that the Gemini functionality is misbehaving, rather than any problems with our file permissions.

Update. I've successfully loaded the 2-row file once, and failed the second time.

Here are the errors, they occur in pairs. Let me know if you need the complete messages.

ANSWER

Looks like a false alarm.

Someone had entered a description in the "Title" field in Excel. So, the field was longer than the (very generous) permitted number of characters.

Thanks.
