Regression testing Sentry

admin
sentry

Hi All,

We have Sentry, but am not really sure how we can configure it all to work as we expected/want? If anyone can help provided some guidance it would be appreciated.

I have looked through the demo database and it is straight forward to understand. What I cannot get my head around is:

The normal process for a defect or a sprint is that you defined your requirements and tasks. Tests are then written against these requirements to ensure that when delivered to the clients it funcation as expected.

We then add these tests to a regression test pack, so that on the next version / release of the software we can re-run these tests so that we can check funationlity has not been affected by the changes we have made.

From what I can see in Sentry once you have created a test plan, test case and executed a test run and it has passed the item is closed. I dont want to lose the test plans and cases or have to re type them each time.

in v4 you could go to the testing tab of a project. See all the plans and cases and then execute a new test run. Has this ability been lost?

Is there a way to set things up in the way described above or have I just missed something? Any help appreciated?

Cheers

Chris

This is still the same in Gemini 5. Simply create a new run for the new release. When a run is completed the test item should not be closed.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the quick reply, but your answer does not really give me the answers I need or the pointers requested. Is there any blogs or places in the user guide where I can get help with setting the system up?

Cheers

Chris,

Did you want to just "duplicate" the previous regression test run?
