Why can't I bulk Update Items from Complete to Closed in v5?

usage

I have a filtered list of issues that are all Complete. When I attempt to do an Update of the list to change the Status, the options in the drop down do not match my work flow and it does not allow me to Close the issues, which is the next step in my work flow, and naturally, what I want to do to all the issues.
