Converse not picking up e-mails

install
converse
scheduler

Hello!

We are evaluating Gemini and we would like to test the e-mail-to-ticket features using Converse. We are using the 3 user version of Gemini.

We've installed Converse and the CounterSoft Gemini Scheduler. We have succesfully created a Converse mailbox and we were able to test it ([Gemini] Found 30 Messages. Test SMTP Message).

But no new items are created in Gemini from the e-mails is this mailbox.

The CounterSoft Gemini Scheduler is running. But when (re-)starting this service we get the following error: Error testing connectivity/authentication to client http://localhost.

How can we resolve this issue?

Thank you!

Regards, Sandor

Please make sure that the url that the scheduler is using is correct and can be accessed from the server.

The scheduler service is running on the same server as the Gemini web application. On that server I can browse to http://localhost using IE. I do get one popup from IE Enhanced Security Configuration before the login page displays (we have disabled anonymous access).

BTW: Is a license needed for Converse when evaluating using the free 3 user version? If so where can I get one? Now we aren't using a Converse license; maybe this is the cause of the problem?

Its not a licensing issue. Are you using windows authentication?

No, we're not using windows authentication.

If that is the case you should not receive a challenge when you navigate to the site from the server. Please try replacing the local host with the site name.

I've configured the following in the config file for the scheduler:

  • WebServiceURL
  • AuthenticationUsername
  • AuthenticationPassword

And now the scheduler starts without error messages.

But the e-mails in the configured mailbox are still not getting picked up by Converse and created as items in Gemini.

What could be the problem?

What does your event viewer say for the scheduler? You will need to request for a trial licence for Converse. Please go to http://www.geminiplatform.com/free-trial to request the licence.
