Setting the string replacement or truncation doesn't do anything

I'm trying to remove text that our company appends to our emails using the instructions here, but I have had no luck removing the string. Any help appreciated.

What did you put in as the truncation / replacement string?

I added the exact text that is added to the emails and have regex unckecked for both truncation and replace.

ANSWER

Yes, but if the email is in HTML then it might not match! Check the source of the email first.
