SMTP Servers

To create or maintain a SMTP Server in Breeze, navigate to the Customization section from the Customize link in the top right hand section of the menu. Select the Breeze tab and the SMTP Servers sub tab (see below).

Breeze - SMTP Servers

To create a new SMTP Server definition, click on the Add button, you will be prompted to provide:

  • Name – A name to associate with this definition
  • Server – The SMTP Server name
  • Server Port – The port that the SMTP server uses for outbound emails
  • Authentication Mode – One of: None, Auto, NTLM
  • Username and Password – The username and password associated with the email address to be processed
  • Encoding – One of: Default, ASCII, UNICODE, UTF7, UTF8
  • Use SSL – Checkbox to indicate if you use SSL

Click Save to create the SMTP Server definition.

When the definition is saved Gemini will attempt to validate that the SMTP Server exists and is accessible. If there is a problem with the technical configuration you may get a message like the example shown below.

To maintain the Name, Server or Port values you can click in the appropriate field and use Gemini’s inline editing to easily and instantly change the field value. To edit every field, click on the Edit icon edit icon . To delete a SMTP Server definition, click on the Delete delete icon icon to the right of the screen. You will be prompted to confirm the action and allowed to proceed or abort.

A note on Breeze Responses

If a Mailbox is set to send responses on receipt of emails, Breeze sends responses from the base email address. What this means is that if support@company.com is an alias that is forwarding email to customers@company.com – and Breeze is monitoring the inbox for customers@company.com, the response will still be sent from support@company.com
