Microsoft Web Platform

install

The Microsoft Web Platform Installer can be used to install both the Gemini web application and the SQL database loaded with sample data to get you going.

Step 1 - Get Microsoft Web Platform Installer

The Microsoft Web Platform Installer is free and helps you install web applications. You can usually find the Web Platform Installer inside IIS:

You can also download the Web Platform Installer from here.

Step 2 - Register Countersoft Apps Feed

Click on the Web Platform Installer inside IIS and then selection Options:

Add the following feed url: http://www.countersoft.com/apps.xml

Once the Countersoft feed has been added, click on the Countersoft tab, click Add to select Gemini, and then click the Install button:

You should now confirm that you wish to install Gemini:

Step 3 - Setup Gemini Web Application

Choose how you want to install Gemini (IIS options):

Step 4 - Setup SQL Database

Provide SQL database parameters as prompted (ignore initial missing password warnings):

Step 5 - Wait...

The Web Platform Installer should now install the Gemini web application and setup a sample SQL database:

Once installed click the Launch Gemini link to open up Gemini in browser:

After installation you can navigate to the Gemini web application using your browser (e.g. http://myserver/gemini").

If you see something like the above then Gemini has bee installed correctly.

You can now log into Gemini using the username "manager" with a password of "manager".
